Sealed Pet Caskets Vs. Non-Sealing Pet Caskets

This is probably one of the most asked question of consumers when researching a pet casket for a beloved pet. Many consumers demand a casket that comes with a air/water tight seal. Today manufacturers offer gaskets that they claim will protect the body. For example, some may offer a protective casket that uses a gasket to seal the casket shut after the coffin is closed for the final time. However, no pet casket will preserve the body, regardless of whether it is a wooden, metal, plastic casket, sealed or non-sealed casket. In most cases, a sealed pet casket will actually speed up rather than slow down the process of decomposition. An airtight casket, for example, fosters decomposition by anaerobic bacteria, which results in a putrefied liquification of the body, and all putrefied tissue remains inside the container, only to be exposed in the event of an exhumation. A casket that allows air molecules to pass in and out, such as a non-sealed casket, allows for aerobic decomposition that results in much less noxious odor and a more natural clean skeletonization.

This is why we recommend the Aristocrat Pet Casket, this is the only pet casket on the market that includes a separate vault that is included with each casket. The vault is used to create a pocket of air around the casket to seal out any ground water penetration around the opening of the casket without an actual gasket or sealing material. This system is much better that a gasketed or sealed casket in which it allows the contents of the casket to decompose by way of aerobic decomposition, rather than by decomposition by anaerobic bacteria which will cause gases to accumulate inside the casket and in time blow or compromise a gasketed or sealed casket. Once the seal or gasket is damaged or compromised the casket will then be exposed to any ground water in the area to fill the once sealed casket. This is the why the Aristocrat Pet Casket is superior to sealed caskets, the vault with the air seal system will still protect the contents of the casket from ground water infiltration, and allow air molecules to pass in and out and allow the contents of the casket to decompose naturally.
